Tucker Carlson and Michael Vick

Tucker Carlson, the one-time bow-tied stooge who left CNN and MSNBC and landed at Fox News, is angry President Obama thanked the Eagles for giving QB Michael Vick a second chance. You see, Tucker Carlson believes Michael Vick “should have been executed.” Because, obviously, the 18 months in federal prison weren’t enough.

Cable news host Tucker Carlson on Tuesday took issue with President Obama's support of quarterback Michael Vick's stunning turnaround, saying that he thought Michael Vick "should have been executed" for his crimes.

Tucker Carlson, who is guest-hosting the Fox News program "Hannity" this week, made the remark during a discussion about Obama's call to Eagles' owner Jeffrey Lurie in which the President said he was happy the team gave the troubled quarterback a second chance after he was convicted of running a dog fighting ring.

"I'm a Christian, I've made mistakes myself, I believe fervently in second chances, but Michael Vick killed dogs, and he did [it] in a heartless and cruel way," Tucker Carlson said. "And I think personally he should have been executed for that. He wasn't."

"But the idea that the President of the United States would be getting behind someone who murdered dogs [is] kind of beyond the pale," he said.

During Obama's call, which was first reported by Sports Illustrated's Peter King and confirmed by the White House, Obama condemned Michael Vick's crimes but praised the Eagles for showing faith in the idea of giving someone a second chance.

Professional golfer Ben Crenshaw, one of Tucker Carlson's guests on the show's Great American Panel, said he agreed that Michael Vick's crimes were horrific but he was happy to see him back on the field.

Tucker Carlson
later said he was "all for forgiveness," but he felt that that Michael Vick's crimes were unforgivable, and asked why the President chose to make the call.

"He's some creepy, rich, overpaid football player, I mean, come on," Tucker Carlson said. "If the President said there's some guy who was dealing crack as a kid, grew up in a poor family, you know the story, and he's turned his life around, you know, fine. I get that."

Since his reinstatement in 2009, Michael Vick has given speeches around the country apologizing for his crimes.

Earlier this month, Michael Vicksaid that he was considering getting another dog as part of his rehabilitation process.

The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals said in a statement that the terms of Michael Vick's probation prohibit him from owning a dog until late 2012.

People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals told The Washington Post Tuesday that Obama's call was appropriate.

Some local restaurants keep their doors open in hopes that companies leave the kitchen and come to celebrate the holiday at their restaurants.

For Zacharee Newbold, a manager at Texas Roadhouse, said traditionally for Christmas it was a great night for the restaurant businesses. “There are workers who Hoku will not be able to return home. They are some of my regulars" , said Bri Overdorf, a bartender at the restaurant. Most shop intend to stay open until 9:00 p.m.

Lunar Eclipse and Winter Solstice December 2010

Lunar Eclipse December 2010. Lunar eclipse occurs when the Earth lines up directly between the sun and the moon, blocking the sun’s rays and casting a shadow on the moon. As the moon moves deeper and deeper into the Earth's shadow, the moon changes color before your very eyes, turning from gray to an orange or deep shade of red, NASA explained.

In this Lunar Eclipse on 20-21 December 2010, while it is merely a coincidence that the eclipse falls on the same date as this year's winter solstice for eclipse watchers this means that the moon will appear very high in the night sky, as the solstice marks the time when the Earth's axial tilt is farthest away from the sun. Then the moon takes on this new color because indirect sunlight is still able to pass through Earth's atmosphere and cast a glow on the moon. Earth's atmosphere filters out most of the blue colored light, leaving the red and orange hues that we see during a lunar eclipse. Extra particles in the atmosphere, from say a recent volcanic eruption, will cause the moon to appear a darker shade of red.

It's best chance to study for the real phenomenon of Lunar Eclipse of Astronomy, prepare for stay up late tonight because next time it will happen again in the continental U.S. to see a total lunar eclipse until April 15, 2014, according to NASA.

Total Full Moon Eclipse Tonight

Total Full Moon Eclipse Tonight, December 20-21, 2010. Tonight we will experience a full lunar eclipse. It begins at 1:33 a.m., followed by the onset of totality at 2:41 a.m., and NASA said that the best moment for viewing is 3:17 a.m. The eclipse will be visible across all North America.

North and Central America should both be able to view the entire eclipse, which is estimated to take about 3.5 hours. Total eclipse will begin at 11:41 p.m. PST on Monday, or 2:41 a.m. EST on Tuesday -- so obviously West Coasters will have a better chance to catch the magnificent sight without dragging around heavy eyelids and needing an extra dose of espresso the following morning. If you want to set an alarm to catch a brief glimpse of the amber moon, NASA recommends 3:17 a.m. EST for the optimal impression.

NASA reports that this is the first time an eclipse has coincided with a solstice since December 21, 1638, and the next one won't come around again until 2094. The extravaganza in the sky doesn't end there, however, as the Ursids meteor shower will also be taking place.

Don't miss this natural phenomenon, total full moon eclipse tonight, because it'll happen again in 2094, or next 84 years. You can see this phenomenon easily or use telescope to see closely.

NYS Unemployment Continues to Fall in City

NYS Unemployment Continues to Fall in City. The city’s unemployment rate has declined steadily since it peaked at 10.5 percent a year ago. The unemployment rate for New York City edged down again in November to 9.1 percent. It is now significantly lower than the national unemployment rate of 9.8 from the 9.6 of October. According to James Brown, the principal economist for the New York State Department of Labor, The number of private sector jobs in the city has increased by 1.6 percent in the last year, compared with just 1 percent for the country.

US. President Barack Obama signed the tax cut bill into law on December 17, 2010. The measure will extend all the Bush income tax cuts for two years and cut the payroll tax from 6.2% to 4.2%. The measure also extends unemployment benefits for an additional 13 months. It's welcome news to the unemployed, who have bombarded the New York State Department of Labor with an important question: when will they get their checks? According to Labor Commissioner Colleen Gardner, who says the money will be distributed by the middle of next week, and a majority of people will receive two weeks worth of benefits so it won't take too long.

In November 2010, New York City added 14,000 jobs, with much percentage of the hiring came from employment agencies, on Wall Street and in accounting and other business services. That gain was smaller than the average for the last 10 Novembers, but it continued a positive trend, New York State Department of Labor Principal Economist James Brown said.

Michigan City Lottery Ticket Thief Sentenced

Michigan City Lottery Ticket Thief Sentenced

A Michigan City woman has been sentenced after she admitted to stealing hundreds of dollars worth of lottery tickets from her employer.

Tiffany Borolov, 22, of 420 Benton St., pleaded guilty Wednesday in La Porte Circuit Court to Class D felony theft. She’ll be monitored for 90 days by a satellite tracking device as well as serve 455 days on probation.

According to court documents, while Borolov was working at East Side Produce at 4666 W. U.S. 20, she removed scratch-off lottery tickets from their dispenser at her cashier station. Police were contacted August 13 when owner Mike Mussa, while reviewing store surveillance video, witnessed her stealing the tickets. According to court records, Borolov took 260 tickets in one shift; 15 were winners that she collected on.

The investigation shows Borolov used a scanning device to tell which tickets were winners without fully scratching them off, and then used store proceeds to collect the payoffs.

An audit revealed that during her employment Borolov took $5 scratch-off tickets with a total retail value of $21,518. Under the plea, Borolov will have to pay back the store $250 for the tickets she admitted taking.
