Regis Philbin made the announcement retired from Live with Regis and Kelly. Regis Philbin, 79-year-old host of the long-running morning show, "Live with Regis and Kelly", made the announcement this morning, said he's finally ready to give up his talk show, after 28 years on the morning shift. Regis Philbin has been doing the show for almost three decades and has become a pop culture icon.

During his announcement, Regis joked, "There is a time that everything must come to an end for certain people on camera, especially certain old people."

"This will be my last year on this show," Regis Philbin told the audience.
