Christmas Carol Chorous Competition 2010
Christmas Carol Chorous Competition 2010. The fourth and fifth grade chorus, the Hurffville Elementary directed by Nancy Leong, has submitted recently recording to a radio station B101 in Philadelphia, and the students chose the choral "Believe" from movie, "The Polar Express", which has been selected for the quarter-final round for this Christmas carol chorous competition. And the winner has the chance to perform with the Philly Pops Orchestra and Peter Nero during a Holiday Pops concert on Sunday, December 19, at the Kimmel Center, and reveive a music course for $5,000.
On Wednesday, the B101 will feature with the Hurffville on air and other two teams also from the two other schools between 7 to 9 AM. And a similar competition between three schools will be held today and Tuesday. On Friday the winner will be announced.
Principal Joanne Robertson said that their students were so excited today when they learned of their success and last year they were submitted a tape but were not selected to be on the air. The children had the learned with the experience and they will not give up and try once more.
The winning vocal piece is selected much like “American Idol” winners, which is by the number of votes the song receives on the B101 website, www.b101radio.com.
Let's cheer your team and enjoy the Christmas carol chorous competition together.
